The Arctander Clam Chair—also known as the Muslinge-Stolen or Mussel Chair—is a celebrated expression of both modernist furniture principles and mid-century Scandinavian sensibility. Designed by Danish architect Philip Arctander, the chair is instantly recognizable by its rounded, mollusk-inspired silhouette and signature curved arms, combining sculptural presence with inviting softness.
Originally produced with solid wood legs and upholstered in natural sheepskin or fabric, today’s reinterpretations feature luxurious faux sheepskin or shearling, offering a modern update while honoring the integrity of the original design.
