As a genuine emblem of Mid-Century Modern design, the Barcelona Ottoman was first showcased at the German Pavilion during the 1929 International Exposition in Barcelona.
Our reproduction faithfully follows Mies van der Rohe’s original plans and specifications. The cushion is composed of 18 individually cut, wetted, and hand-tufted leather panels, each secured with leather buttons crafted from a single piece of leather. Inside, the ottoman is filled with high-quality, resilient urethane foam layered with soft, down-like dacron polyester fiberfill for ultimate comfort. The cushion is bound with genuine leather straps fastened by aluminum bolts, with all edges carefully finished and color-matched for a seamless look.
The sturdy frame is constructed from treated stainless steel, meticulously chrome-plated, ground, and hand-polished to achieve a flawless mirror finish.
