What made the CH25 truly innovative was Hansen’s pioneering use of woven paper cord—a durable, sustainable material adopted during World War II when traditional resources were scarce. Today, this handcrafted detail is a hallmark of the chair’s enduring appeal.
Each CH25 Easy Chair requires roughly 10 hours of meticulous hand-weaving by skilled artisans. The result is a distinctive seat and backrest that provide firm yet flexible support, wrapped in the natural warmth of woven paper cord and a solid wood frame.
