The Flag Halyard Ottoman is a distinctive creation by Hans J. Wegner, combining bold modernist design with luxurious comfort. Constructed from solid stainless steel, specially crafted flag line, and rich long-haired sheepskin, this ottoman exemplifies relaxed elegance.
The idea and shape of the design were born on a hot summer day, as Wegner sat on the beach while his children played in the shallow water. He began sculpting a comfortable seat in the sand—laying the foundation for what would become an iconic piece of modern furniture.
Approximately 700 feet of flag line are meticulously woven around the steel frame using a unique technique that ensures both strength and visual consistency. The thoughtful proportions and material blend make the Flag Halyard Chair and Ottoman a go-to choice for evening relaxation and lasting comfort.
The headrest is filled with soft feathers and upholstered in top-grade Italian aniline leather. Only about 5% of all cowhides meet the rigorous standards required to be classified as aniline—ensuring that only the finest leather is used in every piece.
